Why I Chose to Remove Meat, Fish, Dairy, and Processed Foods to Heal Naturally

Part of My Why - I Love To See Me Smile
Part of My Why - I Love To See Me Smile

There was a time when I didn’t think twice about what went on my plate. I ate what I craved, what was quick, what was “normal.” But over time, my body started whispering… and then it started yelling. Hypothyroidism. A mild stroke. Severe anxiety and depression. I knew deep down something had to change—not just for a few weeks, not for a quick “diet,” but for life.

The truth? The foods we eat every day are either helping us heal or slowly breaking us down.

What Those Foods Do Over Time

Meat, fish, dairy, and processed foods aren’t just “harmless indulgences.” Over years, they can contribute to inflammation, clogged arteries, high blood pressure, hormonal imbalances, and poor gut health. And it’s not just the big, scary diagnoses—we feel it in smaller ways too:

  • That sluggish, heavy feeling after a meal

  • The afternoon crash you chalk up to “just being tired”

  • Brain fog that makes it hard to focus

  • Joints that ache more than they used to

We’ve all had that moment after eating something where we think, Why did I eat that? And then, we count down the minutes until the discomfort fades—except now we’re stuck in that feeling, at the mercy of time.

Why We Keep Going Back

I get it—some days we reach for comfort food. That instant hit of pleasure can be the hug we think we need. But here’s the thing: that comfort is fleeting. We feel good for a moment, and then we’re right back where we started. It becomes a cycle—using food to mask the feeling, only to feel worse later.

The Shift to Whole Foods

When I finally said, Enough is enough, I chose to eat in a way that gave back instead of took away. Whole, plant-based foods—fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, seeds—aren’t just “healthy,” they’re life-giving. They:

  • Reduce inflammation naturally

  • Support a healthy weight without obsessing over calories

  • Give you sustained energy (no more caffeine roller coaster)

  • Improve mental clarity and focus

  • Support heart health and balance hormones

The biggest gift? Time. Time you’re not wasting on recovery from a heavy meal. Time with the energy to do the things you said you’d do when you “finally felt good again.”

The Moment That Changes Everything

Can you imagine your doctor looking at your chart and saying:

"I don’t know what you’ve been doing, but keep it up—we can lower this dosage"

or

"You don’t need this medication anymore"

That’s not just a dream. I’ve lived it. I’m no longer on medication for hypothyroidism, severe anxiety, or depression. I didn’t need prescriptions to reduce my stroke risk—I took my health into my own hands.

I built 30 Days to a Whole You and the 7-Day Jumpstart straight from my own plate—these are the meals, habits, and mindset shifts that helped me ditch the prescriptions and build a life I love. I still eat this way every day, because it works… and I want you to feel that same transformation.
